Grant James Ingram, our beloved son, 18, of Ajax, La., passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 in Lafayette, LA.
Grant was born in Alexandria, La. to Francie and Jay Ingram on June 22, 1996. He lived in Ajax, La. and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Natchitoches from Pre-K until he graduated in 2014. He was a 4 year member of the Tiger Football team and captain his senior year and received All-District honors. He was a 4 year member of the Tiger baseball team and also received All-District honors. A member of 4-H, FCA and FBLA. Grant was becoming an avid golfer. He was presently living in Lafayette attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he was majoring in Business Administration. At UL Grant was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. So many are mourning the loss of Grant, he was loved by so many and was taken far too soon. Grant was a very loving person with a sweet smile and kind to everyone. He cherished his friends and loved life. We have a special angel looking over us. May is soul rest in the peace and love of Jesus Christ: Grant you will be missed.
A Mass of Christian burial for Grant James Ingram was held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Natchitoches with Father Ryan Humphries serving as celebrant. A burial was held at the Ajax Cemetery in Ajax, La.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, William Jay and Leah Frances Ingram of Ajax; Brother, Garrett William Ingram of Lafayette; his grandparents, Jimmy and Linda Ingram, Louis and Mary Frances Lowrey, Gerry Kirkland; his Great-Grandmother, Mae Belle Brown; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Leake Kirkland and Great-grandfather, JP Brown, Great-grandparents, Lela Mae and Covey William Ingram.
Pallbearers were: Martin Aviles, Luke Lucky, Jake LaCaze, Cody Howell, Jacob Murchison, Tyler Roberts, Dillion Bordelon and Mike Meric. Honorary Pallbearers: Trevor Metoyer, Hunter Hendricks, Landon Sturdivant, Josh Hickman, the St. Mary’s class of 2014, The SMS baseball and football teams and the members of Kappa Alpha order, Gamma Phi Chapter.
The family would like to express their gratitude at the outpouring of support from all family and friends. It is very evident that Grant was loved by so many. We hold our precious child in our hearts with the faith that we will see him again in heaven.
