Boaz, 20 years old, was born November 6, 1994 to E. Merlin and Mary C. Squyres. He was a beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew and friend. He graduated from Natchitoches Central High School in the class of 2013 and was currently attending Northwestern State University studying accounting. He was a faithful church member at Grace New Testament Baptist Church.
He was the best and sweetest brother anyone could ask for. Being protective and loyal was his love language. He was true to Boaz. What he set his mind to do, he did. You always knew when he showed up somewhere because you could hear the loud tail pipes on his truck. Boaz enjoyed spending time with his friends around bonfires. He loved fireworks and loud music and math. He almost never went without a hat, even though he had the best head of hair. The happiest times for Boaz was when he was holding one of his nephews, Everett or Titus. He loved and treasured them so much. He was an active member of FCA and FFA in high school. For almost ten years he spent one Saturday of every month on a community service project with Modern Woodman of America. Family vacations were frequent and he always made them so wonderful. Some of the best memories are from those trips. Vacations will never be the same without him. There is a hole in our family that cannot be filled. He is irreplaceable and will forever be loved, cherished and missed.
On Sunday, February 8, 2015 Boaz was in a one vehicle accident. He fought hard for exactly one week. He sustained multiple injuries and in the end it was just too much for his body to overcome. That week was precious to us. We were blessed to have one more week with him; to love him, be with him, and hold his hand.
He leaves behind grieving parents Earl Merlin and Mary Cook Squyres, siblings William Squyres, Mary Pool and brother-in-law Tim Pool, Anastasia Watson and brother-in-law Garrett Watson, Susanna Squyres, and Martha Squyres, niece Katie Squyres and nephews Everett Watson and Titus Pool, grandparents Dr. Roy and Mary Alice Cook of Natchitoches, Mary Lou Squyres and the late James Earl Squyres of Ferriday, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be William C. Squyres, Kalo Axsom, Benjamin Axsom, Timothy Pool, Garrett Watson, and James Sinclair.
