A service to honor the life of Mrs. Mandy Inez Ward Harwell will be at 1 pm Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Marvin Leleux officiating. Interment will follow at Bellwood Cemetery in Bellwood, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Inez Harwell, 75 years of age and a former resident of Shreveport, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 in Natchitoches. She was born May 22, 1939 in Harrisville, MS to Carlis Ward and Eula Bell (Booty) Ward. She was the oldest of 10 siblings and helped raise her brothers and sisters. Although she never had children, she always loved her siblings as her own because of the care she gave during their formative years. A true Christian lady, her love for her family was only exceeded by her love for her savior, Jesus Christ. She was an active member at First Baptist Church of Shreveport for many years. She retired from SWEPCO in 1993 after 17 years of service. She courageously won her battle with breast cancer several years ago, which is attributed to the resolve she showed throughout her life. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers, James C. Ward and his wife, Shirley Nell, Lee Allen Ward and his wife, Christine, Robert H. Ward and his wife, Frances and Michael Ward; her sisters, Rosa Lee DeMille and her husband, John, Joy Rodrigues and her husband, Ernest, and Peggy Sue Lindsey; a close and dear friend, Laverne Norsworthy Franks; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a great-great nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim H. Harwell; her parents, Carlis and Eula Bell Ward; a sister, Shirley Ann Ward; and a brother, John E. Ward. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Mark Ward, Hugh Ward, Randall Ward, Joshua Ward, Elton Allen, and Jason Sauve. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Ward and Raymond Franks.
