Stanley Monette

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Stanley Monette, Sr. will be at 11am Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville with Father Kenneth Obiekwe serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at Cloutierville Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 9pm on Tuesday, March 10th at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7pm on Tuesday the 10th in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Monette, 83 years of age and a resident of Cloutierville, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Natchitoches, LA. He was born January 12, 1932 to McKinley Monette, Sr. and Julia Metoyer Monette in Cloutierville, LA. A life-long and well respected man in Cloutierville, Stanley was always known for his kindness and generosity. He was always available to help anyone in need, day or night. A devout catholic man, he was a practicing member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. A man of skill, he worked in the construction industry late into his life, not truly retiring until he reached seventy years of age. He was a member of the National Labor Union and worked for a number of different contractors in the area but primarily for Lloyd Moreau. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather and will be dearly missed but always remembered by his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Clayton Monette (Yvette) and Randy Monette (Shirley) both of Clouterville; daughters, Janie LaCour (Gerald) of Cloutierville, Rachel Moran (Sidney) of Pineville, Veronica Monette-Evans of Atlanta, GA, Debra LaCour (Craig) of Natchitoches, and Betty Monette (Norris Byone, Jr.) of Chicago, IL; brothers, Owen Monette of Natchitoches and McKinley Monette, Jr. of Cloutierville; sisters, Cecile Monette and Gladys Monette of Natchitoches and Mary Elaine Silva of South Waren, NH; grandchildren, Jodie LaCour, Rosalind LaCour, Lacey LaCour, Megan Monette, Stanley Bray, Kimberly Jewett, Michael Moran, Tressla Moran, Ebony Moran, Ashley Cole, Colleen Brooke, Danielle LaCour-Lincoln, Joshua Monette, Lakin LaCour, Hope LaCour-Evans, and Codey Coutee-Byone; as well as 32 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearly LaBom Monette; a son, Stanley Monette, Jr.; brothers, Leo Monette and Willie Monette; and his parents.
