Funeral service for Eloise Landrum McCart will be 10 am Monday, March 23, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Currie officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery of Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Sunday March 22nd at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Eloise, 80 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away peacefully Friday, March 20, 2015 at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. She was surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She was born May 26, 1934 to James Franklin Landrum and Necie Virginia (Stephens) Landrum in Many, LA. She is survived by her children, Frances Hargis and her husband Andrew Ray, Patsy Broadway, and Mike McCart and his wife Tina Matthews McCart all of Natchitoches; a brother, Willard “Bill” Landrum and his wife Betty of Dry Prong; grandchildren, Kristy Crowder and her husband Darrin of Nashville, TN, Jon McCart and his wife Carmella Maggio McCart of Natchitoches, Amy Hargis DesOrmeaux of Shreveport, Melissa Hargis Williams and her husband Jason of Natchitoches, Derrick McCart and his wife Marci of Many, Melanie McCart Sanders and her fiance’ Seth of Natchitoches; Jake McCart and fiance’ Susan of Natchitoches, Jenny McCart Hancock and her husband Chad of Natchitoches, Jeremy McCart and his wife Ashley of Natchitoches, Rachel Coker and her husband Jordon of Shreveport; great grandchildren, Michael Patterson of Nashville, TN, Garrett McCart of Austin, TX, Kelsey Hayes of Natchitoches, Mason McCart of Natchitoches, Gavin and Gunner Williams both of Natchitoches, Gregory, Brayden and Ian Sanders all of Natchitoches, Finley DesOrmeaux of Shreveport, Mikey McCart of Many, and Addison McCart of Shreveport; a great-great grandson, Michael Patterson of Nashville, TN; and sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Lilley of Natchitoches; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Walter James McCart of Natchitoches; two sisters, Geraldine Landrum Taylor and Sara Landrum Thompson both of Natchitoches. Her grandsons are honored to be her pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons and Charles LaCaze. Eloise was a true model for unconditional love for her family and friends, always putting others’ needs ahead of her own. Her love for life included traveling, art, crafts, and seamstress work. She also enjoyed playing cards and bingo with family and friends. She was a retired special education bus attendant for the Natchitoches Parish School Board, a bookkeeper for the family business for over 20 years, a dietician for the old Natchitoches Manor Nursing Home, and a devoted pink lady for the Natchitoches Parish Hospital for over 30 years. A loyal member of Trinity Baptist Church and Grace Sunday School class, she enjoyed fellowship with her church family. She attended Northwestern State College. For many years she volunteered her time to assist with endeavors sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary for Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center, Dr. Bryan and Sissy Picou, the Courtyard of Natchitoches and her roommate at the Courtyard, Mrs. Pepper, for the care and compassion they showed over the past few months. Donations in Eloise’s name may be made to the Baptist Childrens Home, 7200 Desiard Street, Monroe, LA 71203. A charity she supported for many years.
