A service to honor the life of Mr. Emmett Paul Ferguson, Sr. will be at 10 am Monday, March 30, 2015 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fern Park Cemetery of Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
Emmett Paul Ferguson Sr., age 98, of Natchitoches, La. Passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Courtyard of Natchitoches in Natchitoches, La.
Emmett was a native of Natchitoches. He attended Normal College (Northwestern State University) one year before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corp in 1941. He was assigned to the 9th Army Air Corp in WWII, 322 Bomb Group, 452 Squadron B-26 Marauder Group, North Africa. When the group moved to England, he was assigned to the 8th Army Air Corp as a T-Sgt. Then the group moved to France, Belgium and Germany.
Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his wife Mattie Eugenia Ingram Ferguson. Brothers, Juno Ferguson, Mose C. Ferguson, and Aaron A. Ferguson; sisters Emily Ferguson, Louise Ferguson, Geneva Ferguson and Mary Odeal Stephens; and his parents Aaron Brevelle Ferguson and Celine Bussie Ferguson.
He is survived by his sons Emmett Paul Ferguson Jr. and wife Linda Laiti Ferguson, David Wayne Ferguson and daughter-in law Terry Elizabeth Cassano Ferguson Rasch, and Glen Allen Ferguson. Daughters; Doris Lynn Ferguson Bradley and husband Dave Bradley, and Nancy Ann Ferguson Kossina and husband Paul Kossina. Grandsons: John Paul Ferguson , Aaron Wayne Ferguson and wife Chasity Richard Ferguson, Brent Kossina and wife Amanda Banzon Kossina, and Eric Kossina . Granddaughters: Tracie Michelle Ferguson, Mary Heather Ferguson Riche and husband Jason Riche. Great grandson: Kade Riche, and great granddaughter Allissa Riche and Olivia Jean Kossina.
Pallbearers will be Emmett Ferguson Jr., David Ferguson, Paul Kossina, Dave Bradley, Thomas Elkins, and Hester Leach.
