The family will receive friends from 9 am until the time of Mass in the St. Augustine Catholic Church Hall on Wednesday the 22nd. Mary Louise Ravard Llorens was born on June 5, 1939 in Echo, Louisiana, to the late Clarence & Ruby Ravard. After graduating from high school, she moved to California where she married the love of her life, Leo James “Jim” Llorens, on August 8, 1959. Louise was a kind and friendly person who loved meeting and mingling with people. After all of her five children reached school-age, she began working for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles until she and her family eventually moved back to Louisiana. Louise also loved researching genealogy, and later was given the opportunity to work for the NSU Creole Heritage Center where she was able to indulge in her passion. Even after she retired, Louise found pleasure in keeping up with her family’s creole heritage, and she was often called upon by others to help them find their creole connections. Louise always came up with creative and new ideas, and she would often try them out with her grandchildren whom she was totally devoted to, and who lovingly referred to her as “Grammie.” She and Jim were often on the go, and for several years, her rosary group gatherings were the highlight of her week; especially if they had time to tack on a friendly game of poker. Her precious memory will be cherished forever by her loving husband of 55 years,“Jim” Llorens, five children; Eric Llorens, Sr. & his wife Wendy of Bermuda, LA., Angela Llorens Rachal & her husband Louis Jr. “Cookie” of Natchitoches, LA., Alan Llorens & his wife Tina of Westchester, CA., Lorita Llorens Metoyer &her husband, Archie Sr. of Natchitoches, LA., and Keith A. Llorens & his wife, Colette of Gardena, CA; fourteen grandchildren; Eric Jr.& Jarred Llorens, Alicia & Louis Rachal, Zachary, Victoria, & Nathaniel Llorens, Breanna, Marissa, Archie G. & Alainna Metoyer, Kyle, Cole & Karli Llorens and one great-granddaughter, Nevayah Rachal. She is also survived by four sisters; Dorothy Gautier of West Covina, CA, Camille (Joe) Laurent of San Antonio, TX., Wilma (Ernest) Pichon of Bermuda, LA., Audrey Ravard of Natchitoches, LA., Phillip Ravard of Brooklyn, New York, and several nieces and nephews. SHE WILL BE DEARLY MISSED BY ALL.
