Gloria Bridges Murphy

Funeral services for Gloria Bridges Murphy will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Alpine Baptist Church, located at 7215 Shreveport Hwy in Tioga, LA, with Rev. Charles Hultzer and Rev. Lucas Lacour officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ball, LA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on May 1, 2015 at Alpine Baptist Church in Tioga, LA. Gloria Murphy, 87 years of age of Pineville, LA, passed away April 29, 2015 at Christus-St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. She was born March 19, 1928 in Shreveport, LA. Gloria loved the Lord and was devoted to her church, Alpine Baptist in Tioga, LA. She was always ready to share her love of Christ with others. She cherished her husband, D.K., and her family tremendously. Together, they had many wonderful memories with their numerous hunting trips and travels across the country. Gloria will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 69 years, D.K. Murphy; her children, Cindy Murphy Henderson and her husband Danny of Hot Springs, AR, Kenneth D. Murphy and his wife Susan of Alexandria, LA, Susan Murphy Drost and her husband Ernie of Hot Springs, AR, and John David Murphy and his wife Janice of Pineville, LA; seven grandchildren, Trey Manning, Ashley Murphy, Kenneth Murphy, Jr., Jeremy Drost, Justin Drost, Heather Murphy and Marisa Murphy; twelve great grandchildren, Will, Andrew, and Sophie Manning, Tripp and Finn Murphy, Ashlyn, Liyah, Jeremy, and Anabelle Drost, Ava Drost, and Reagan and Jenson Cooksey; and her sister, Billye Flemming and her husband Perry. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Maureen Bridges; and her son, David Allen Murphy. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Trey Manning, Jeremy Drost, Justin Drost, Kenneth Murphy, Jr., and son-in-laws, Danny Henderson and Ernie Drost.
