Funeral services for Gladys Huddleston Brazzel will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Wayne Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 8:30 am until 10:00 am on May 9, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Gladys, 89 years of age, passed away May 6, 2015. She was born September 1, 1925 in Natchitoches, LA. She was a Christian lady who loved her family dearly. She was a "people person", a lady who never met a stranger, and would always take the time to stop and talk to whoever she came in contact with. She retired from Northwestern State University and was a member of the Barksdale Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Gerald Huddleston and wife Doree of Center, TX and Ronald Huddleston of Bossier City, LA; her daughters, Judy Welch Flaherty and husband Edward “Rock” of Tewsbury, MA and Beverly Welch Lestage and husband Bob of Cypress, TX; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; and her brother, Ralph Nolley of Natchitoches, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe "JP" Phelps Brazzel, and her parents, Ben and Eva Nolley. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Trey Bonnette, Kevin Lestage, Bobby Lestage, Danny Dison, Gary Nolley, and Billy Huddleston. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Lifepath Hospice Care of Shreveport, LA and Riverview Care Center of Bossier City, LA for all of their loving care and support during Gladys' illness.
