A memorial service for Frank Winstead Martin, Sr., Ph.D. will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 09, 2015 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Richard Hale officiating.
Frank Martin, Sr., 92 years of age, passed away May 5, 2015. He was born September 19, 1922 in St. Louis, MO. Frank was a highly educated man, a dedicated father and husband, and a meticulous person down to every detail. His career started in 1941 and encompassed WWII's Pacific Theatre, earning a Ph.D. in Biology in St. Louis, MO, and a teaching career spanning many years, which eventually ended up at Northwestern State University as Vice President of Affairs. He earned his pilots license and instructors license, was a Mason and member of the El Karuba Shrine in Shreveport, LA, and served the law enforcement system as a narcotics investigator and identifier for many years. He had a full life, much of which cannot be covered in these short words, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Veryl Cecelia Martin, and his son, Frank Martin, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Martin.
