John Raymond Wheat

John Raymond Wheat passed away April 20, 2015 at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born on December 5, 1954 in Natchitoches, Louisiana and was the youngest of 5 children. The unconditional love he had for his children and grandchildren will always be remembered and never replaced. He was a man that never met a stranger and always enjoyed making people laugh. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching football with his 2 daughters and always wanted their favorite team to win. He is survived by his two daughters, Rachal Wheat and Jonelle Wheat Pommier and her husband Hal; five grandchildren, Yenag Elizabeth Wheat, Brooklyn Annabelle Johnson, Sadie Elisabeth, Grant Joseph, and Griffin Jon Pommier; his brother, Dain Wirt and his wife Donna Sue; his sisters, Linda Wheat and Nan Wheat; and three nieces, Dana Wirt Pitre, Dena Wirt Salter, and Jessica St. Andre. He is preceded in death by his mother and best friend, Helen N. Wheat. A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held at 2pm on June 6, 2015 in Lafayette, Louisiana at his daughters home.
