Shirley Rose (Britt) McGee

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shirley Rose (Britt) McGee will be at 10 am, Saturday, June 6, 2015 in the chapel of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Pastor John Elliott and Pastor T.J. Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Friday, June 5th at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Shirley McGee, 82 years of age and a life-long resident of Natchitoches, stepped over into eternal glory on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in Natchitoches, LA. She was born March 25, 1933 to Joseph Raymond Britt and Rosa Belle Massey Britt in Converse, LA. She held the noblest job in the world, a devoted homemaker who held a deep love for her family. Her greatest passion was teaching children about her savior, Jesus Christ. A long-time member of Calvary Baptist, fellowship with her church family was very important to her. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Anita Ann McGee of Natchitoches; sons, James Gary McGee and wife Sharon of Monroe, John Rickey McGee and wife Myra and Jerry Wayne McGee both of Natchitoches; and a brother, Charles Britt and his wife, Marta of Fort Worth, TX. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry McGee; her parents, Joseph Raymond Britt and Rosa Belle Britt; sisters, Virginia Prince and Eva Jones; and her brothers, Ron Britt and Carl Britt.
