A Mass of Christian Burial for Bernadine Metoyer Moran will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Natchitoches, LA with Fr. James Moran, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Melrose, LA. A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Benton, LA with a Vigil service starting at 6:30 pm following the visitation. A second visitation will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, prior to the service in Natchitoches at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Bernadine Moran, 90 years of age, passed away June 7, 2015. She was born August 19, 1924 in Melrose, LA. She was a longtime resident of Natchitoches, LA, as well as longtime and faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Natchitoches. She was a seamstress for many years and was a devoted Catholic. She had a compassionate spirit and a servant’s heart, and would spend her time helping those in need. She was among the first to receive the "Devoted Service Award" given by the Alexandria-Shreveport Diocese. She loved her family and her church and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Fr. James Moran, Jr. of Rock Hill, SC, Steve Moran and his wife Jan of Bossier City, LA, and Chris Moran and his wife Peggy of Shreveport, LA; two grandchildren, Mallory and Brad Moran, both of Shreveport, LA; her brother, Mack Metoyer and his wife Seline of Shreveport, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Celestine Metoyer; and numerous brothers and sisters.
