Richard Marvin Snyder

A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Richard Marvin Snyder on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 305 Royal Street, Natchitoches, LA. Pastor John Karle will be officiating with additional thoughts by Pastor Andrew Rossi. Richard, age 69, of Natchitoches, LA passed away peacefully from this life on June 10, 2015 at Grace Home in Shreveport, LA. Richard, who moved to Natchitoches 14 years ago, was an accomplished carpenter assisting in many historic preservation projects and was actively involved in the community taking in many foster children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rod. He is survived by his wife, Miki; his twin brother Bob of Montesano, Washington; his daughters, Kim and her husband John Dale of New Zealand, Suzi and her husband Ian Frogson of England; his sons, David Basye and his wife Cristina of Jackson, Wyoming, and Shane Basye and wife Michelle of Jackson, Wyoming; and sister-in-law, Joe of Tacoma, Washington. Richard was also survived by his grandchildren, Zoe, Ethan, and Maisie Dale; Lara Michael, and James Basye; and Teresa and Sabrina Burkey whom he raised from a young age with Miki as his own. Richard was also active in Christ the King Lutheran Church as both a member and elder, he loved to fish and was very creative and involved in music and art.
