Funeral services for Jackie Ruth Flynt will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 3, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. John Elliot officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on July 3, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Jackie Flynt, 81 years of age, passed away June 29, 2015. She was born December 16, 1933 in Campti, LA. "Mama Jack" as she was known to many, was a wonderful person to be around, was friendly and outgoing, and lived life to the fullest. She had many hobbies including sewing, reading, bowling, and dancing whenever she had the chance. She enjoyed having a good time, and taught her children to do the same. She was a longtime resident of the Clarence, LA community, and was a member of the Clarence Baptist Church. Jackie loved to travel the country, had a colorful and loving personality, and will be deeply missed by her family and all that knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Rathburn and her husband John of Melrose, LA; her son, Tillery Lynn Flynt of Natchitoches, LA; six grandchildren, Flynt Nelson and wife Tara of Natchitoches, LA, Jeremy Flynt and wife Lindsey of Natchitoches, LA, and Ryan Flynt and wife Jill of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer Waters and husband Jason of Camden, AR, Cameron Flynt of Many, LA, and Stacy Rathburn Brimer and husband Jeremy of Wylie, TX; two sisters, Merry Jo Grayson and her husband George of Natchitoches, LA and Myrtis Hernandez of Shreveport, LA; two brothers, Louie O'Quinn and his wife Carol of FLora, LA and David O'Quinn and his wife Aletha of Baton Rouge, LA; six great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tillery W. Flynt; her son, Dennis Flynt; her grandson, Patrick Flynt; her parents, A.E. and Mary Lou O'Quinn; three sisters; two brothers; and her brother-in-law, John Hernandez;
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jeremy Flynt, Hugh Grayson, Flynt Nelson, Bryan Grayson, Mickey Clark, and Mike Pierce.
Honorary pallbearers will be George Grayson and W.B. Lindsey.
