Raymond Middleton

Raymond Middleton, age 83, of Marthaville, LA, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2009, in his home with his family by his side. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, February 2, 2009. The family will receive friends at Bethany Baptist Church from 11:00 AM until service time. The funeral service will be at Bethany Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 3, 2009, with Rev. Billy Burkett and Rev. Joel Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Marthaville Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. He was born in Pleasant Hill, LA, on May the 11th, 1925. Mr. Middleton was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and served in World War II in the South Pacific. He was a loving daddy and granddaddy and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by a special great-grandson Taylor Nelson; and his parents, Robert Dolan Middleton and Ada Gaddis Middleton. He is survived by his wife Zelda Middleton; one daughter, Beth Nelson and husband Jim of Marthaville, LA; one son, Rod Middleton and wife Lynndel of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Katie Arthur and husband Monty of Marthaville, LA, Christina Johnson and husband Josh of Natchitoches, LA, Cody Nelson and wife Tricia of Marthaville, LA, Lauren Beckermeyer and husband Chad of Houston, TX, Hunter Middleton of Denver, CO; six great grandchildren, Tucker Arthur, Anna Kate Arthur, Cooper Johnson, Matson Nelson, Cole Johnson, and Adrian Nelson; and two sisters, Eva Middleton Collins of Shreveport, LA and Mary Joe Middleton Hahn of Marthaville, LA.
