Jo Ann Rigdon Cox

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Jo Ann Rigdon Cox will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 10:00 am at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home at 848 Keyser Ave., Natchitoches, LA. Inurnment will follow at Holley Springs Cemetery in Martin, LA. Jo Ann was born on February 1, 1938 in Martin, LA and attended Martin High School. After attending Northwestern State University for a short while she met Jimmy. They later married in September 1957 and moved to Baton Rouge. She set up their household while he attended LSU. Their life together included several moves due to Jimmy’s career with Chevron as a Petroleum Engineer. During their journey they gathered many friendships. They felt truly blessed by this. Jo Ann will forever be remembered for her generous spirit and hospitality toward family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Irene Loftin Rigdon of Coushatta, LA; and her husband Jimmy. She is survived by a daughter, Kelly C. Chalaire of Natchitoches, LA; and a son, James R. Cox, III of Covington, LA; two granddaughters, Katelyn C. Smith and husband Steve of Coral Gables, FL, and Amanda M. Chalaire of Sarasota, FL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to The Cane River Children’s Service, 425 Rue De Gabriel, Natchitoches, LA, 71457.
