Funeral services for Joseph Arnold McEntyre will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Steve McAlister, Rev. Johnny Dunn, and Rev. Wayne Spears officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on July 11, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Joseph McEntyre, 77 years of age, passed away July 8, 2015. Joseph was born September 23, 1937 in Harrisonburg, LA. Known as "Mac" to most everyone who knew him, he was a loving husband and father, and a wonderful grandfather. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors, fishing or hunting, and was a wonderful cook. His memory will also live through his woodworking, a hobby which he enjoyed thoroughly. He was a kind hearted man, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He made his living as a salesman, which lent itself well to his charismatic demeanor. He could sell anyone anything, at pretty much anytime. "Mac" was a giant to his family, a rock to lean upon, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Linda McEntyre of Natchitoches, LA; his children, Pamela M. White and her husband Boyd N. White of Natchez, MS, Lisa M. Mason of Corpus Christi, TX, and George Aaron McEntyre and his wife Kristin of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Matt Merritt of Natchez, MS, Amber Horner and her husband Josh of Denham Springs, LA, Brandi Rouse of Bastrop, LA, Will Merritt and his wife Connie of Monroe, LA, Amos Merritt of Sterlington, LA, Hannah Merritt of Natchez, MS, B.J. White of Natchez, MS,
Christopher White of Natchez, MS, and J.D. Mason of Corpus Christi, TX; and eleven great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Aaron McEntyre and Osie Rushing McEntyre; and his brothers, Ray McEntyre, Cecil McEntyre, J.D. McEntyre, Clyde McEntyre, and Robert McEntyre.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Matt Merritt, Will Merritt, Amos Merritt, B.J. White, Christopher White, J.D. Mason, Jerry Waxley, and Josh Waxley.
