A Memorial Mass for Michael Alexander Rachal (Mike) will be held on Monday, July 20th at 6:00 P.M at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA with Rev. Kenneth Obiekwe serving as celebrant. Mike, age 51, passed away at his home in Derry on Saturday, July 11, 2015. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Gordon Tech High School and later entered into the United States Army as an automotive specialist. He moved to Derry, Louisiana in 1986. Mike was employed as an automotive technician with Eastside Exxon (Natchitoches) for over a decade. He was a man of many talents but this was by far his most favorite occupation because he loved socializing with others. Mike loved unconditionally and made sure that anyone he knew felt loved and appreciated. He is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Rachal; his grandparents, Raymond Ray and Emma Kvazick (Chicago); and grandfather, Felix Rachal (Derry). Mike is survived by his grandmother, Irene Rachal; his father, James Rachal; his Brother, James (Jimmy) Rachal Jr.; Sister, Denise Rachal; Also left to cherish is his former wife of 20 years Theresa Bayonne Rachal, their daughters; Kayla Rachal and Jennifer Bayonne (granddaughter, Gabrielle Lee); and his son Christian Rachal (mother, Gwendolyn Martin), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and family. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. (1Corinthians 13:2 NIV).
