Funeral services for Patsy Ruth Ray will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Walter Rose officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hagewood, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on July 21, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Patsy Ruth Watley Ray, 76, a native of Thibodaux, LA, died on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at her home in Carencro, LA where she resided with her husband of 62 years, Dale Nelson Ray. She was a longtime resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana. Pat was born on March 22, 1939 in Natchitoches Parish. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Watley and Eula Maude Wyatt Watley; two sons, Michael Wayne Ray and David Bruce Ray; two sisters, Marjorie Horn and Tressie Orsborn; and one brother, Ray Watley. She is survived by her husband, Dale Nelson Ray; her sons, John Dale, James “Butch” and his wife Edie, Paul Lee and his wife Julie, and Brian David and his wife Jessica; her grandchildren, David Ray and his wife Ariel, Tiffany Roundtree, Johnny Ray, Hannah Ray Marks and her husband Chris, Rebekah Ray, Leah Ray, Sarah Ray, Mary Ray, Therese Ray, James Ray, Azelie Ray, Bethany Ray, Eden Ray, Anna Ray, Jacob Ray, Seth Ray, Joseph Ray; as well as her great-grandchildren, Damian, Layla, McKenzie and Madeleine; and her siblings, Johnny Elaine “Nook” Weems and her husband Earl, W.F. Watley, and Roy Watley and his wife Linda. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister. Pat was a woman of faith which she persevered until the end. She will be sorely missed by all those who loved her.
