A memorial service for Mr. Jerry Hughes will be held Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 3 pm at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. Bishop Matt DeFord will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 2:45 pm on Sunday.
He was born January 24, 1947 to the late Woodrow and Ruby Vancleave Hughes. He taught at Natchitoches Central for many years. He was the family historian and enjoyed genealogy work but his favorite past-time was working in his yard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his brothers, Charles Hughes and his wife Margaret of Magnolia, AR, Bob Hughes and Bettie Carroll of Baker, LA; nieces, Andrea Michelle Huebner and her husband Gary of Cudahy, WI and Holley Langlois and her husband Bernard of Harahan, LA; nephews, Hayes Hughes and his wife Angie of Mandeville, LA and Hunter Hughes and his wife Phyllis of Marietta, GA; great nieces and nephews, Peyton Huebner, Casey Huebner, Lexie Langlois, Sabrina Langlois, Taylor Hughes, Hannah Hughes, Tristian Hughes, Garin Hughes and Raena Hughes; and a very special family friend, Ottie Frech.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Wendall Hughes.
