Margaret Anne "Maggie" Carroll

February 17, 1946 — August 17, 2015

Margaret Anne (Maggie) Carroll, 69, passed away on August 17, 2015, at her home in Natchitoches, LA from complications of cancer. Margaret was born February 17, 1946 in Winnfield, LA. She was a devoted mother and friend. She had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest, often inspiring those around her with her spirit and her laughter. She was active in the church and the choir. She loved children and taught both elementary and special education classes, as well as teaching children with amputated limbs how to swim. She volunteered at the Campti Museum. While fighting her own battle with cancer, she compassionately knitted caps and hats for children and adults in similar situations. Also, she had a special place in her heart for mistreated and abused animals; and, she often rescued strays she found on the side of the road, taking them in as her own and nursing them back to health. She is survived by her sons Wynne P. Taylor & his wife Susanne of Natchitoches, LA, Evan R. Taylor & his partner Carl Sylvia of Dallas, TX, & Samuel A. Taylor, III & his partner Catherine Davis of Natchitoches, LA; grandchild, Anna S. Taylor, as well as David Kingsley, Brian Kingsley, Brandon Kingsley, Michael Kingsley, and Josh Schaeffer; her brother, James Kenneth Carroll and numerous cousins, nieces, & nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin L. “Ed” Carroll and Fannie Louise “Jo” Carroll. The family asks that any donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Natchitoches Hope for Paws.
