Funeral service for Glen Donald 'Spiz' Lindsey will be 2 PM Saturday, February 14, 2009 in Provencal United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Paul Grace and Rev. Bruce Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery at Bellwood, La. under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches, La. Visitation will be Friday, February 13, 2009 from 6 PM until 10 PM and on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 8 AM until service time in the church.
Mr. Lindsey, 70, of Provencal, La., died Thursday, February 12, 2009, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches, La.
He was a native of Provencal, La. He was a retired off sett printer for T. B. Butler Publishing Co. and Tyler Morning Telegraph in Tyler, Tx. He was a member of West Erwin Street Baptist in Tyler, Tx.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen 'Red' Lindsey and Ona Mae Haley Lindsey.
He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Peggy Sue Ward Lindsey of Provencal, La.; two daughters, Donna Thaxton and husband Mike of Toledo Bend, La. and Debra Ann Franklin and husband Kenn of Tyler, Tx.; two step-daughters, Wendy Allen and husband Elton of Marthaville, La. and Rebekah Varnell of Natchitoches, La.; two step-sons, Adam Varnell of Provencal, La. and Daniel Varnell, Jr. of Lewiston, Me.; twelve grandchildren, Brandon Heppner, Kristol Ivy, Andriane Barnes, Kerbi Franklin, Hunter Franklin, Kennedy Franklin, Walker Franklin, Cody Varnell, Kayla Varnell, Ward Allen, Phillip Varnell, and Ellis Allen; great grandchildren, Daniel Ivy, David Ivy, Payton Ivy, Brandon Heppner, Ashton Heppner, Christian Barnes, and Cailyn Barnes; three brothers, Ben D. Lindsey and wife Betty, Larry Lindsey and wife Judy, San Lindsey and wife Donna all of Provencal, La.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Heppner, Adam Varnell, Tony Ivy, Mike Thaxton, Kenn Franklin, Casey Barnes, Jarrett Thaxton, and Dwayne Poe.
