Helen Bates Lee

A service to honor the life of Helen Lee will be at 2 pm Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Jerry Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Ramah Cemetery in Ashland, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on the Thursday the 27th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Helen Lee, 92 years of age, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Natchitoches. She was born July 31, 1923 to Onia Bates and Lyddie Farley Bates in Brown, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Robert Lee; and a great grandson, Kyle McBride. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church of Natchitoches and was a Natchitoches resident for the majority of her life. She will be dearly missed but always remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Barbara Mitchell and her husband Dale of Lockport, LA, Larry Don Lee of Wylie, TX, Patricia Baker and her husband Joe of Blacksburg, VA, Luther Lee, Jr. and his wife Judy of Natchitoches, LA, Betty Lee of Plano, TX, and Cathy King and her husband Thomas of Natchitoches, LA. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Her grandsons are honored to serve as pallbearers.
