A memorial service for Mattie Jean Rachal will be at 2 pm Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the time of service at Blanchard St. Denis. Jean Rachal, 77 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center. She was born March 11, 1938 to Joe and Phyllis Basco in Cloutierville, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eddie Michael Basco; a sister, Dorothy Johnson; her husband, Clyde “Rudy” Rachal; and sons-in-law, Michael Phillips and Roger Knotts. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Phillips and Patsy Knotts; grandson, Josh Knotts and his daughter, Lauren; granddaughter, Crystal Ward and her children, Sarah and Kaden Kijanski; granddaughter, Trandi Whatley and her children, Benjamin E. and Daniel Clyde; granddaughter, Sandy Young and her husband Marvin and their children, Imlie, Skylie and Kenlie; a brother, Jerry Basco and his wife Brenda; sisters, Sydonna Ostravelee and her husband Clarence and Sandra Williams; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
