Virginia Gayle "Ginny" O'Con

Funeral services for Virginia Gayle O’Con will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Fr. John Pardue officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Spanish Lake Community, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 pm on August 28, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Virginia “Ginny” O’Con, 69 years of age, passed away August 25, 2015 at her home in Marshall, TX. She was born November 28, 1945 in Beaumont, TX. Virginia lived a full and happy life and thoroughly enjoyed being with friends and family. She lived in Marshall for many years and met many people that she remained life long friends with from her career in real estate. She and her family were also small business owners in Marshall until they moved to St Louis MO. She made many friends in St Louis and was heavily involved in her church while lived there. She moved back to Marshall recently and reconnected with friends and was surrounded by them at the time of her passing. Ginny as she was known by family and friends was a larger than life person that enjoyed living and entertaining those around her. Many friends have stated that "she was one of a kind and there will never be another person like her" and that is how she would have enjoyed to be remembered. She enjoyed music and dancing and traveling. She was born in Beaumont TX and was raised in Fairview Alpha La. She married Pete O'Con in 1965 and lived in various places including Amelia LA, Powhatan LA and Clarksville TX before settling in Marshall TX where she raised her two children and was an active member of the community. She and her husband moved to St Louis in the late 80's and she remained there even after her husband passed away in 1997. She relocated to Marshall last year and remained there until her passing. She is survived by her sons, Kelly Louis O'Con of Austin, TX and Trini Eugene O'Con and his wife Jennifer of Virginia Beach, VA; two grandchildren, Delaney O'Con and Adelina O'Con of Virginia Beach, VA; one sister, Shari Balzrette and her husband Don of Lake Charles, LA; her niece, Rhonda Britain of Fairview Alpha, LA; and her nephew, Prentiss Blanchard of Fairview Alpha, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Pete" O'Con; two nieces, Cindy Cox and Sonya Anderson; and two nephews, Jason Thomas and Barry Thomas. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and many friends.
