Ellis J. Coutee, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Ellis Coutee, Jr. will be at 11 am Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church with Rev. John O’Brien serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Isle Brevelle, LA under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9 am until the time of Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church located at 911 5th Street, Natchitoches, LA. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be prior to the Mass. Mr. Coutee, 75 years of age, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Natchitoches. He was born to Ellis Coutee, Sr. and Margaret Mary (Miller) Coutee in Natchitoches Parish on October 19, 1939. He worked in the Agriculture Industry for many years but ultimately retired as a mechanic with Northwestern State University. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie LaCour Coutee; a son, James Rachal, Sr.; a sister, Etheline Antee; a brother, Felix James Coutee; and his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Anthony LaCour, Sr. and his wife Janet, Richard Chevalier, Otis LaCour and his wife Janet, James LaCour and his wife Lois, Lucy Coutee and her husband Marvin, and Darnell Coutee and his wife Molly; his siblings, Bessie LaCour, Mary Metoyer, Collins Coutee, Harry Coutee, Florence Coutee, Estelle Coutee, Charles Coutee, Leatrice Rogers, Vivian Howard, Eric Davis and Julius Howard. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. The active pallbearers will be Marvin Byone, Jr., Chris LaCour, Sr., Anthony LaCour, Jr., James Rachal, Jr., Michael LaCour, John Coutee, Deon Lewis, and Jacques LaCour.
