A Mass of Christian Burial for Judith Lise Dranguet Risty will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches, Louisiana with Rev. Brian Seiler officiating. Interment will follow at the Catholic Cemetery in Natchitoches next to her parents and grandparents. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.
Judy passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 after a long battle with liver cancer. Born on June 6, 1944 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, she is predeceased by her parents Charles Edwin ”Benny” and Cleo McBride Dranguet; her sister, Mazie Jean Dranguet Williamson; and her brother-in-law, Richard L. Williamson, Sr.
Judy retired after 20 years in the public school system, three years at St. Joseph Catholic School in Shreveport, and almost sixteen years at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Natchitoches, her alma mater. She was a faithful member of the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and an active alumna member of the Alpha Zeta chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma.
She is survived by her son, George Frederick “Ricky” Risty; her daughter, Kathryn Risty Ryan and son-in-law, Jeremie; and her grandchildren, Mary Adeline, Macie Lise, Margaret “Maggie” McBride, Jeremie Jacob, Jr., Joseph Benjamin, and Mallorie Kathryn. She also leaves her brother, Charles Edwin Dranguet; sister-in-law, Mary Dranguet; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Serving as pall bearers will be Dannie Collins, Ben Dranguet, C. E. “Buzz” Dranguet, III, Glenn Pierce, John Pettey Sandifer, Mike Weber, Sr., and David Williamson. Honorary pall bearers are Brannon Rowlett and Carl Chism.
The family would like to thank the Hospice of Natchitoches for all of their care and love for Judy.
