Mary Frances Gilcrease

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Mary Frances Gilcrease will be at 3:30 pm Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches with Bro. Mike Honzell and Bro. Jerry Smelly officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 7 pm on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Frances Gilcrease, 72 years of age and a resident of Campti, LA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. She was born May 22, 1943 to George and Cleo Custis in Natchitoches, LA. Mrs. Frances had strong ties to her community and was a long-time member of United Baptist Church in Campti. She was a two-time cancer survivor and donated a great deal of her time to assist the American Cancer Society. She will be dearly missed but always remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Otis Ray Gilcrease. Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Damon Gilcrease and his wife Sandy; a daughter, Marlene Gilcrease Burr; a granddaughter, Mary Elise Gilcrease; a grandson, Chance Burr; a brother, Bruce Custis; and a very dear friend, Brenda Anderson. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Raymond Slaughter, Doyle Waddle, Jamie Montgomery, Ray Keyser, Fred Carter and Jerry Smith.
