Funeral services for Vivian Howell Massey will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Paul Grace officiating. Interment will follow at Moss Cemetery in Bellwood, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on October 2, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Vivian Massey, 94 years of age, passed away October 1, 2015. Vivian was born July 9, 1921 in Vowells Mill, LA. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and a devoted wife to her husband. She was raised working outdoors, and enjoyed working in her garden and canning fruits. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She worked hard raising her children, and enjoyed going to church when she could. Vivian was a caring person, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, M.H. Massey and his wife Dena of Irving, TX, Wayne Massey of Porter, TX, Roy Massey and wife Diane of Bellwood, LA, and Helen Deason and husband Jerry of Provencal, LA; ten grandchildren, Mike Massey, Kim Lacey, Mitch Massey, Sheila Silva, Jerry Deason, Jr., Darlene Pitts, Danny Deason, James Deason, Kayla Mathis, and Holly Mitchell; her great grandchildren, Amber, Michael, Matthew, Taylor, Arabella, Meaghan, Danielle, Carson, Kevin, Jacob, Josh, Mason, Katy, Bailey, and Natalie; her great-great grandchildren, Dawson Rowell and Corlin Carter; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Othel Massey; her parents, Henry Howell and Oma Foshee Howell; her son, John Calvin Massey; three brothers; and eight sisters. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Danny Deason, James Deason, Russ Pitts, Billy Ray Howell, Carson Deason, and Jacob Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Deason, Billy Gene “Scoot” Holland, Ralph Rowell, Mike Silva, and Dawson Rowell.
