A Mass of Christian Burial for Edith Brossette Moreau will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 27, 2009 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church at Old River, LA. Father Jacob Thomas will officiate the service. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 26, 2009 from 5 pm until 9 pm at Blanchard St. Denis of Natchitoches. A Rosary service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday night.
Mrs. Edith Brossette Moreau, 92, of Natchitoches passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009. She was born December 7, 1916 to the late Angles and Lelia Lavespere Brossette in Marco, LA. She was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Mrs. Edith was a devout catholic, a Eucharistic minister, and a member of the Altar Society.
She is survived by two sons, Melvin (Mary Nell) Moreau of Marco and Kirby (Sandra) Moreau of Natchitoches; three daughters, Lelia “Tootsie” Faccone of Natchitoches, Lou (Joe) Basco of Natchitoches and Veralyn (Wendell) Cowart of Savanah, Ga; 10 grandchildren, Debbie (David) Cheatwood, Dwayne (Liz) Moreau, Renee (Malcolm) Griffith, Steven Faccone, Michael Faccone, Janet (Billy) Bonds, Chris (Lindsay) Cowart, Kim (Steven) Potts, Tammy (Steve) Pezant, and Sean (Elizabeth) Moreau; 2 step grand children, Rachael Teel and Lesley Smith; 19 great grandchildren; Austin Moreau, Tanner Ross, Stephanie Jordan, Christa Mayo, Justin Griffith, Tanya Griffith, John Faccone, William Faccone, Garrett Bonds, Kacy Bonds, Chase Cowart, Emily Cowart, Taylor Cowart, Avery Potts, Sonja Pezant, Carson Moreau, and Meaghan Moreau. Great-Great Grandchild, Jessie Ross; one brother, Marion (Jean) Brossette of Sulphur, sisters Bernice Pardee of Flatwoods and Annie Salard of Marco; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dwayne Moreau, Sean Moreau, Steven Faccone, Michael Faccone, Chris Cowart, and her good friend Aubrey La Caze.
