A service to honor the life of Mr. Malcolm LeMoyne McDonald will be at 10 am on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Hudson and Bro. Calvin Phelps officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at American Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Monday, November 16, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
Malcolm LeMoyne McDonald, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. He was born in Benson, LA to Robert Coleman McDonald and Mary Louise Terrell McDonald. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After his service to his country, he earned his Bachelor Degree from Northwestern State University and worked many years in the USDA office as the district soil conservationist. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by wife of 58 years, Peggy Love McDonald; three daughters, Connie Thomas and her husband Mark of Natchitoches, Kelly Sirmans of Indianapolis, IN, and Desiree’ Blount and her husband Jerry of Mobile, AL; six grandchildren, Joshua Gray, Kialey Gray, Leigh Gray, Steve Shumake, Nina Blount and Juliya Blount; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Loyd McDonald and his wife Mary of Mansfield; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, Robert Coleman McDonald and Mary Terrell McDonald; and two brothers, W.R. McDonald and James McDonald.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Mark Thomas, Jerry Blount, Don Ray English, J.W. Kelley, Wayne Walker and Bobby Dale Armour. Honorary pallbearer will be Loyd McDonald.
