A service to celebrate the life of Clarence Ezernack, Jr. will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. David Matlock and Brother George Holland officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.
Mr. Ezernack, age 70 went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital. He was a native of Natchitoches and worked previously as a mechanic at Smith’s Garage.
He was born May 18, 1945 to Clarence Ezernack, Sr. and Mattie Ezernack in Natchitoches, La. He was a mechanic by trade but a musician by heart.
He loved God above all others. He was a loving husband and best friend to his wife Clara for forty nine and a half years. He was also a loving father and grandfather. His greatest accomplishment in his eyes and heart was his family.
He was a member of Christian Harmony Baptist Church. He considered his church family to be his second family. He spent many hours singing and praising the Lord.
He is survived by his wife Clara Ezernack, his daughters; Wendy Armstrong and husband Mark of Birmingham, Al., Daphney Poole and husband Gerald of Flower Mound, Tx., Son: Jody Ezernack of Natchitoches, La, Grandchildren; Sarah Ezernack (Jacob), Seth Ezernack, Andrew Ezernack, Alex Ezernack, Jacob Poole, and Mackenzie Poole, Sister-in-laws; Alice Delacedra of Pineville, La., Joyce Washington of Monroe, La., Peggy Morris of Baton Rouge, La, Tina Knueppel and husband Gene of Natchitoches, La., and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Clarence and Mattie Ezernack, Sister; Mary Wheatcraft, Niece; Cathy Wheatcraft, Mother-in-law; Lola Mae Garsee, Brother-in-law; Larry and Robert Breedlove, Nephew; Brandon Boyd.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ronnie Smith, Jason Moran, Larry Boyett, Earl Morvan, Jr., Leo Delacerda, and Gene Knueppel.
Honorary pallbearers are Mark Armstrong, Gerald Poole and his grandson’s.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ardoin at Rapides General Hospital, and all of the staff and doctor’s at the Natchitoches Parish Hospital for their excellent care.
