Linda Sue Nolley Marlowe, aged 68, passed away November 20, 2015 in Houston, Texas, after a courageous struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Linda, or “Sue”, as she was commonly called during her youth, was born March 1, 1947 in Natchitoches, Louisiana, the daughter of Joseph Benjamin Nolley and Helen Blue Nolley
She was a graduate of Natchitoches Central High School and Northwestern State University, from which she also earned a Masters Degree in Education. She taught middle and high school children for more than 30 years in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas before retiring in 2006.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, James C “Ted” Marlowe of Houston, Texas. Her son Jeff, wife Jennifer, and grandchildren Caiden, Eli, and Sebastian Marlowe, of Austin, Texas; three brothers, Benny and wife Mary Margaret Nolley and Gary and wife Miranda Nolley, of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and Kenneth and wife Rachel Nolley of Diana, Texas.
Special thanks go to Autumn Grove Cottage, Houston, and special caregiver “Chi Chi” who assisted her for many months. They are truly a gift.
A memorial celebration, with Dr. Richard Emerson officiating, will be held at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral home in Natchitoches, Louisiana on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time Monday afternoon.
