A Funeral Service for Elsie D. Cade will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Thomas Rush officiating. Interment will follow at Fern Park Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Elsie Cade, 93 years of age, passed away December 9, 2015. Elsie was born April 23, 1922 to the late James and Lula Champion in San Augustine, TX.
Elsie was an extraordinary woman. She constantly doted on her family. She was an amazing cook and homemaker. She loved to garden and get her hands dirty. She would hunt and fish with her boys as much as possible enjoying the outdoors to the fullest. Her life was filled with pouring all of herself into the people she loved and her family is a testimony to that dedication.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. Samuel H. Cade and wife Susan Cooper Cade and James C. Cade, Sr. and wife Ann Hargis Cade; grandchildren, Brian H. Cade and wife Judy, Jeffery M. Cade and wife Kelly, Angela A. Cade Deaton and husband Ray, Debbie Cade Vienne and husband Scott, Dr. James Cade and wife LeAnne, and Kurt S. Cade and wife Sara; great grandchildren, Laura and David Cade, Jake, Amaris and Cami Deaton, Katie, Michael, and Josie Cade, Hunter, Austin, and Justin Vienne, Coleman and Keely Cade, and Sam and Will Cade; sister, Vivian Eloise Champion Bagley and husband Elmo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Samuel H. Cade, Sr.; father, James Clifton Champion; mother, Lula Therese Flournoy Champion; brothers, Raymond M. Champion and James W. Champion; sister, Bobbie Lou Solorio.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Michelle Mayeux and Dr. Chris Ingram, Courtyard of Natchitoches, and Hospice of Natchitoches for all of their loving care and kindness during Mrs. Cade's illness.
