Michael Ray “Mickey” Lovell died unexpectedly on December 10, 2015 in Terrell, Texas at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Mary Lovell; a sister, Shirley LaCaze and his son, Sean David Lovell.
He deeply loved his children and grandchildren. His children were his pride and his grandchildren were the joy of his life. He made sacrifices for his family, waking early, working long hours, often far from his home. He is remembered for the lessons he taught his children: hard work, self-sufficiency, standing for ones principles, faith and loyalty to family, and always being available to help. He was an accomplished storyteller. He loved nature and the outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisher. He also took pride in raising his garden and animals; even a pet pig.
A service to honor his life will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Crews New Salem Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Montgomery, LA. The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 8 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Crews New Salem Baptist Church located at 102 New Salem Rd, Montgomery, LA 71454.
