Funeral service for Edward L. Vercher will be at 2 pm Monday, December 28, 2015 at Cloutierville Baptist Church in Cloutierville, LA. Burial will follow at Cloutierville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 10 pm on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Cloutierville Baptist Church. Edward Vercher, 77 years of age and a long time resident of Cloutierville, passed away on December 25, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. He was born July 20, 1938 to Theophil Vercher and Alma Basco Vercher in Cloutierville, LA. For many years he worked as a fiberglass technician, specifically for boat repair industry. Edward was a hard worker and someone who sacrificed his needs in order to supply for his family. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and would always lend a hand to anyone in need. His sweet disposition and self-less way of living will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Helen Meyers Vercher; his daughters, Renee Husted and her spouse Inez Martinez of San Antonio, TX, Barbara Rylance and her spouse Stephen of San Antonio, TX, Pamela Weiss of Houston, TX, Collette Vercher and her spouse Donnie Simon of Nashville, TN, and Angel Plunkett and her spouse, Ben of Jamestown, LA; a sister, Patsy Coe of Haughton, LA; and a brother, W.L. Vercher of Cloutierville, LA. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Edward L. Vercher, Jr. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Ricky Coe, Ricky Sanders, Michael Sanders, Sr., William Sanders, Blake Coe, Nicolas Noel, Stephen Geoghegan, and Cody Short.
