Charles Perry Powell

Funeral service for Charles Perry Powell will be at 11 am Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Grace officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Cemetery in Robeline, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Perry Powell, 80 years of age, and a long-time resident of Robeline, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2015 at Byrd Medical Center in Leesville, LA. He was born September 8, 1935 to Charlie Francis Powell and Eura Evelyn Matthews Powell in Robeline, LA. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1955 – 1959. A carpenter by trade, he worked for many years building mobile homes. He was an animal lover as well, especially his horses and dogs. He was a loving brother and uncle and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his sisters, Evelyn Mitchell Lee of Robeline, Barbara Scalese of Leesville and Brenda Curtis of Robeline; brothers, Louis Powell of De Ridder and Mike Powell of Robeline; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Francis Powell and Eura Evelyn Matthews Powell; sisters, Eula Mae Manasco and Rita Mae Manasco; and his brothers, J.E. Powell, J.C. Powell, Porter Powell, W.S. Powell, Sr. and Frank Powell. His nephews are honored to serve as pallbearers.
