Erve T Monroe, Jr.

A graveside service for Erve T. Monroe, Jr. will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Goldonna Cemetery in Goldonna, LA with Brother Truman Leach officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30 pm on January 30, 2016 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Erve Monroe, Jr., 42 years of age, passed away January 22, 2016 after a long, courageous battle with brain cancer with his family by his side. Erve was born July 30, 1973 to Erve T. Monroe, Sr. and Elizabeth Brown Monroe in New Orleans, LA. Erve was an amazing son, husband, father, brother and firefighter. He was dedicated to serving his community and his family in all of these capacities. As a captain of the Boeing Fire Department he performed his duties with excellence and passion. He was also fond of traveling with his family and they tried to do it any chance they could. Erve was a member of the Masonic King Solomon Lodge in Auburn, WA. His passing is a huge loss and he will be greatly missed! He is survived by his wife, Megan Monroe of Milton, WA; daughters, Summer, 19, and Savanna, 7, of Milton, WA; parents, Erve T. Monroe, Sr. and Elizabeth Brown Monroe of Milton, WA; brother, Gregory Monroe and wife Alicia of Milton, WA; niece, Ashlynn and nephew, Jackson of Milton, WA; grandfather, Scriven Gourdon and numerous extended family including several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Monroe; and grandparents, Eva Marie Gourdon, Alvin Brown, and Tilmon and Lola Brown.
