Rosie Leone, 91 years of age, passed away April 1, 2016. She was born January 26, 1925 in Shreveport, LA. She lived a long and fruitful life in her beloved Powhatan community. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, aunt, and friend. She loved her church, St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Church, where she attended faithfully and helped in anyway she could. She was known for her cooking, whether it was helping prepare food for the Feast of St. Joseph's alter at the church, cooking her children and neighbors wonderful Italian food, or making her famous homemade bread.
Rosie was very talented in craft work, making several ceramic decorative pieces and making floral arrangements. She loved working with her hands. She had many hobbies, but among her favorite was playing poker at her Sunday night poker club and playing Pokeno with her lady friends. She belonged to the Sodality of Our Lady group at St. Frances of Assisi and prayed the Rosary everyday.
She was loved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed by her family, church, and friends.
She was survived by her children, Sammy Leone and his wife Dr. Melissa Moss-Leone of Powhatan, LA, Virginia Moore and husband Wayne Moore of Shreveport, LA, and Margaret Wagley and husband Ronnie Wagley, Jr. of Shreveport, LA; her son-in-law, Jerry Lewing of Many, LA; her grandchildren, Sam Leone, Kelli Leone, Ronnie Wagley, Jr. and wife Michelle, and Mary Ann Wagley; her great grandchildren, Sarah Margaret Wagley, Ryan Wagley, Jacob Wagley, and Connor Deen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
