Funeral services for William Jay Ingram will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Bethel Congregational Methodist Church near the Ajax Community with Rev. Brian Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at Ajax Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Jay, 48 years of age, passed away Sunday, April 3rd , 2016 in Shreveport, La. Jay was born December 30,1967 to Jimmy and Linda Ingram of Ajax, La. Jay was a 1985 graduate of Riverdale Academy. He was a 1991 graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. with a BA in sociology and a minor in chemistry. Jay was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order fraternity at Northwestern. While at Northwestern Jay met his wife Francie, they were married in 1990. They were blessed with 2 wonderful boys, Garrett and Grant.
Jay soon began work selling chemicals and building a successful name and reputation for himself. As a near 20 year veteran in the chemical business, Jay had most recently worked with Clariant Corp. as the single point of contact for BHP's Haynesville Shale Production units. Known for his hard work and solid business partner relationships, he was loved by all and considered a pleasure to work beside. Known for his light hearted and quick witted personality, his regular cracking of jokes and one-liners he made his Stonewall office a more lively and enjoyable environment. Jay was known for his kind heart and always willing to help anyone that he could. Jay loved his horses and was an avid team roper, a life time member of the SCV. He loved to play golf and his family was the most important thing in his life . He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 25 years, Leah Frances Ingram; his son Garrett William Ingram, his parents Jimmy and Linda Ingram; his brother Bronson Ingram and wife Becky; and his grandmother Mae Belle Brown (Granny); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Grant James Ingram.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Kerry Rawls, Cody Nelson, Rusty Stultz, Drake Herrington, Jamie Metoyer, Johnny Cox. Honorary pallbearers are Zach Nelson, Chris Mannes, Brian Raupp, Johnny Sims, Greg McGuffy, Trey Hill, Richard deVargas as well as fellow employees of Clariant Corp.
