Thomas Bradford Flynn, 36, passed away this weekend at his home in Natchitoches, LA. Raised in Union City, TN, he moved to Natchitoches in 1999 to be near his parents, The Rev. Richard M and Mrs Janet P Flynn.
He graduated from Union City High School in 1998 and was a member of the Golden Tornado Marching Band. He and his family were proud that he attained the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from NSU and worked for many years as a cook and kitchen manager at Mama's Oyster House and later the Pioneer Pub.
He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, Janet Flynn, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Kelly Flynn (Owen) Hines of Gulfport, MS and Jennifer Flynn (Chris) Galey of Martin, TN, and two nephews and a niece, Aidan and Tucker Hines and Addison Galey.
He is also survived by his aunt, D'Ann Potts of Metarie, LA, his uncle, Thomas B. Flynn, MD (Linda) of St. Francisville, LA, and his cousins, Sean Flynn, Heidi Flynn Barnett (Arden), and Rhys Flynn (Stephanie).
Affectionately known as "Brad" and "Bud". He was a kind, gentle soul who loved his family and his friends. To know Brad Flynn was to love him, and now, to mourn him. A simple service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Natchitoches , LA at 2pm Sunday, May 22. Family will receive guests immediately after.
Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard-St. Denis of Natchitoches, LA. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to any animal rescue, a charity close to Brad's heart, any DARE chapter, or to The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation (bbrfoundation.org), or any charity serving those suffering addiction or mental illness.
