Funeral services for Roy Barton will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Marthaville First Baptist Church in Marthaville, LA with Rev.’s Hoy Leach and Bruce Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on June 9, 2016 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA.
Roy Barton, 74 years of age, passed away June 6, 2016. He was born October 4, 1941 in Delhi, LA. He was a simple man with a great sense of humor and always had someway to make you laugh. He loved his family dearly, he always strove to help his neighbors in any way he could, and he had a strong faith in God. He was a loving and devoted husband, a caring father, and a wonderful grandfather. He loved to fish, doing so any time he could get a chance, and he kept his community supplied with worms. He was a patriot to the core, serving his country in the US Army, and always had an American flag on display. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Strebeck Lofton Barton of Marthaville, LA; his children, Roy Barton and his wife Vera of Spring Ridge, LA, Kerry Hamlin and her husband Dennis of Olympia, WA, Kenneth Lofton and his wife Jennifer of Bossier City, LA, Johnathon Lofton and his wife Courtney of Lucedale, MS, and Heather McClain and husband Kevin of Shreveport, LA; his grandchildren, Cresta Barton, Carlo Busch, Jr., Shelby Merritt, Kayla Lofton, Caleb Lofton, Hannah McClain, Michael McClain, and Sarah McClain; his great grandchildren, Angela Busch, Roman Delrie, Sky Bush, Hayley Merritt, and Trinity Delrie; his mother, Julia Grantham Barton of Spring Ridge, LA; his brother, Gene Barton and wife Barbara of Jeanerette, LA; and two sisters, Annette Barton Withers and her husband Bill of Spring Ridge, LA and Carolyn Barton Brown and her husband Dewel of Vivian, LA.
He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Barton, and his brother, Buddy Barton.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Josh Kilgore, Adam Kilgore, Mikey Lofton, James Lofton, Larry Carr, and Dale Carr.
