Denise Annette Flores Poleman

A Mass of Christian Burial for Denise Poleman will be at 10:30 am Monday, June 13, 2016 at The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Natchitoches. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary by Rev. Stephen Soares will be at 6:30 pm on June 12th in the funeral home chapel. Denise Annette Flores Poleman, 52 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was born June 24, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Eugene Flores and Vivian Prud’homme Flores. Denise was very active in the community, from working in the Catholic Gift Shop to teaching water aerobics at Northwestern State University; she loved being a part of this community. Her greatest love was raising her sons, she deeply immersed herself in all their activities, and their joy was her greatest desire. She will be dearly missed but always remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Lawton Poleman of Natchitoches; her sons, Kenneth Lawton Poleman, II, Keator Lacomte Poleman and Collin Parker Poleman all of Natchitoches; mother, Vivian Prud’homme Duggan and her husband Ted of Bermuda; sister, Andrea Minette Flores-Winder of Shreveport; brother, Eugene Joseph Flores, II of Lafayette; nieces, Amanda Nicole Winder and Bridget Elise Winder of Burbank, CA and all the ladies she instructed in her water aerobics class. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene J. Flores. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Cody Hamous, Josh Fortenberry, Haydon Helms, Austin Jordan, Trevor Durbin, Taylor Hudson, Adam Hudson, Casey Oden and Garrett Wells. Honorary pallbearers will be the Natchitoches Central football and baseball teams. In lieu of floral contributions the family asks donations be made to The St. Charles Borromeo Chapel restoration fund c/o Carey Blanchard, 1490 Hwy 119, Bermuda, LA 71456.
