Stella Marie Vercher Crowley

A service to celebrate the life of Stella Marie Vercher Crowley will be at 10 am Monday, June 20, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Provencal with Bro. Bill Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery in Chopin, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 10 pm on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Provencal located at 123 Maple Street, Provencal, LA 71468. Stella, 64 years of age and a resident of Provencal, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 16, 2016. Stella was born to the union of Kelly and Mildred Vercher on June 22, 1951. She grew up in the Emmanuel community outside of Cloutierville. She graduated with honors from Cloutierville High School in 1970 with the honor of Valedictorian. In 1972 she married Bobby Crowley and together they raised twin sons and a daughter. Despite numerous hardships Stella never lost her faith or her sweet gentle spirit. In 2013 she retired after 33 years as a Lunchroom Technician and Manager. She was a member of Provencal First Baptist Church for over 20 years. She loved her Lord and Savior and held fast to her faith in Jesus Christ. She loved her family and had no hesitation sharing Christ with anyone. She loved to travel and did so often over the years with family and 'the girls' who were her best friends. She absolutely treasured her seven grandchildren and was always so proud of each them. She never missed an opportunity to watch a game or attend an awards ceremony. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, her son John Eric Crowley, sister Patricia Dousay, brother Patrick Vercher and granddaughter Sydney Young. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Bobby Crowley, son James and wife Julie of Marthaville, daughter Tonia and husband Acy of Provencal and daughter Wannetta French and husband Rodney of Negreet. Sisters Bernadine Stewart Brevell and husband John of Natchitoches, Mickie Roberts and husband Charlie of Robeline and brother Greg Vercher and wife Josephine of Chopin. Her much loved grandchildren are Melissa Crowley, Amber French, McKenzie Crowley, Kylee Crowley, Georgia French, Eric Young and Elaina Young. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews including great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Stacy Stewart, Scott Stewart, Lynn Oxley, Jason Dousay, Phillip Gandy and Ray Gandy. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Acy Young, Eric Young and Rodney French.
