Janice Luverne Edens

A memorial service for Janice Luverne Glisson Edens will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Josh Currie officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until start of the service at the church. Janice, 82 years of age, passed away June 17, 2016. She was born October 6, 1933 in Marianna, FL. Janice will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, intelligent, independent woman who was devoted to her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest gift was teaching life lessons to her children and grandchildren, that included how to be of service to others and/or the best strategy to win at Chinese Checkers. She loved to laugh and give strong bear hugs. She also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and spending time watching the birds that came to her house year-round. She will be dearly missed by her family She is survived by a son, Kenneth T. Edens, Jr. (Tom) and his wife Beth; a daughter, Karen S. Potter and husband Michael; her grandchildren, Natalie Laurence and husband Chris, Bryan Edens, Jason Edens, Chris Johns, Kari Johns, Brandon Potter, and Erik Potter; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth T. Edens, Sr.; and her parents, Paul Glisson and Ethel Dudley Glisson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests the donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church in Natchitoches, LA in memory of Janice.
