Vera Thomason Brewer

Mrs. Vera Thomason Brewer, 76 of Natchitoches passed away July 16, 2016. Vera was born August 8, 1939 in Natchitoches, Louisiana and is preceded in death by parents Frank A. Thomason and Mattie Wilkerson Thomason of Natchitoches, brothers, Bluford Thomason and Frank Thomason of Haynesville and her late husband of 40 years, John Brewer of Natchitoches. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kayla Litton and husband Donnie of Converse, Kathy Armstrong and husband Evan of McGregor, TX, and Jennifer Stephens and husband James of Bossier City; stepson, John Dave Brewer of Kentwood; brother, Raymond Thomason and wife Mary of Flemingsburg, KY; and sister-in-law, Wanda Thomason of Haynesville. She was blessed with six grandchildren, Jacob and Lydia Litton, Jackson and Madeline Armstrong, and Molly and Grayson Stephens, along with hosts of nephew, nieces and cousins. Vera was a longtime resident of the Oak Grove Community, a member of Westside Baptist Church and was known for her love of gardening. She served as a Master Gardener and took special joy in her work with the Greenhouse Project at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center. Services will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10am at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home and conducted by Pastor Lindle Stewart. Pallbearers will be Clifford Blake, Jr., Ricky Brewer, Tyler Hammond, Jacob Litton, Doug Patterson, Hubert Wilkerson, Kent Wilkerson and Luke Wilkerson. Honorary Pallbearers are Shawn Thomason, Travis Thomason and Cole Wilkerson. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, July 21st at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
