Billie Cook

February 23, 1938 — July 20, 2016

Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Cook will be at 11 am Friday, July 22, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church in Natchitoches with Rev. T.J. Boyd presiding over the service. Interment will follow at Calvary Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 am until service time on Friday the 22nd at Calvary Baptist Church located at 312 Hwy 3191, Natchitoches, LA 71457. Billie was known to many young people as Mama, Granny, Nanny, Nanna, and Mama Billie. She was a friend to all and never met a stranger. She loved her family and friends. She loved her church family, and had many talents, to include but not limited to quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, playing the piano and organ, and tending beautiful flowers. She loved the sound of the ocean, the sunrise and the setting of the sun. She loved a storm as it reminded her just how small she was in this world. Mama will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. We are sure she is in Heaven playing for our Lord’s choir. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Bridget White and husband, Rocky, Monica Achord and husband, Rodney, Michelle Chambers and husband, Randy, and Jennifer Long and Dale Martin; her grandchildren, Jonathan White and wife, Josie, Naomi Bynog and Roger Smith, Luke Spears and wife, Eryn, Eric Breedlove and wife, Jennifer, Dusty Breedlove and wife, Lara Lee, Raney Chambers, Roni Wilson and husband, Daniel, Dara Martin, Lacy Martin, Randall Achord and wife, Candace, Casie Deville and husband, Michael, and Rian Achord; her great-grandchildren, Alyza White, Collin White, Joshua Simmons, Madison Breedlove, Collin Achord, Cadence Achord, Corbin Achord, Ashton Deville, River Deville and Emma Wilson; her brothers and sisters, Lloyd Mitcham, Jr., Zelda Knox, Loretta Welch, Carol Moore, Vickie Abshire, and Charlotte Hemby, as well as many friends, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, John K and Beulah Foster; her father, Lloyd Mitcham; her mother, Margaret Foster Mitcham Gallien; her brother, Lory Michael Mitcham; her sister, Judy Brister; and her great grandson, Bradden Bynog. Those honored to be pallbearers are, Jim Bryant, Buddy Graham, Terry Williams, Larry Ogle, Bruce Dyjack, and Alan Stanfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Spears, Jonathan White, Eric Breedlove and Dan Wilson. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Billie.
