Gail Stern Kwak passed away on August 5, 2016 at the age of 51 in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was born on January 6, 1965 in Bloomington, Indiana. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Masters degree in Library Science, which lead her to Watson Library on the campus of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches in 1997, where she eventually became the Head of Reference. Her passions included books, knitting, books, fine purses, and books. She loved animals, especially cats, and collected many of them over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Gail Parr Stern. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving husband, James Kwak; her best friend and soulmate Karen Warren Koenig-Smith; her beloved felines Kimba, Firecat, Clio, Grizabella, Indigo, Thistle, Gustav, Trillian, Rosey and Hector; numerous co-workers and professional colleagues from over the years; and many online acquaintances. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
