She passed away on Sunday, August 07, 2016 in the presence of her family in Natchitoches, LA. She was born on January 28, 1928 in Robeline, Louisiana. Bell worked for many years for the Natchitoches Parish School System where her smiling face could be found in the lunchroom serving most of her grandchildren over the years. For 30 years, Bell worked for the Council on Aging at the Marthaville Community Center delivering meals to shut-ins, having lunch, drinking coffee and visiting with friends. Bell was well known for huge Sunday dinners provided for her family. You were never left in wonder of what she was thinking; she loved to dance, have a good time, had the most infectious laugh and lived life to the fullest. She was never without her lipstick. One of her greatest joys was the beauty of her garden and flowers. She was a devoted mother and grandmother always sacrificing for her family. Bell is survived by her five sons: Wayne (Sarah), James (Corky), Doyle (Carolyn), Donnie (Norma) and Bruce (Melinda). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Shelli Adams, Shauna Hicks, Samantha LeBas, Tara Saxon, Anthony Pleasant, Michael Pleasant, Jamie Pleasant, Amanda Hoff, Kelly Pleasant, Pete Pleasant, Kyle Pleasant, Josh Pleasant, and Hannah Pleasant; and sixteen great grandchildren, Garrett, Katie, Jacob, Sarah, Sydney, Rhemy, Odette, John, Collin, Madison, Will, Sophia, Sawyer, Blake, Andrew, and Owen. She was preceded in death by her husband, James ‘Jimmy’ Pleasant, her parents Louis & Clara Freeman, four sisters, Clara Lee Tullos, Nell Horn, Inez Ammons, and Norma Freeman; and six brothers, Earnest, Hershel, Bobby, J.W., Herman, and Ray Freeman. Those honored to be pallbearers will be Garrett Murchison, Jacob Murchison, John Saxon, Collin Saxon, Josh Pleasant, and Kyle Pleasant. The family wishes to thank the Courtyard of Natchitoches and Willis Knighton Health Systems for their care of Mrs. Ora Bell. Special thanks to Casey Gaddis, who loved and cared for her. Thanks to Deacon Mike Whitehead and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Charitable donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or the American Cancer Society, P.O.
